Tour 04 - Guerlédan

Guerlédan Heights.

Join us for this short tour of four iconic "allée couverte" tombs, set on the high ground overlooking the Lac de Guerlédan in central Brittany, just to the west of Mûr-de-Bretagne.

After meeting at our rendezvous point close to the Nantes-Brest canal, we travel up a beautiful little gorge to seek out a cluster of three neolithic tombs that each have stories to tell. We'll then move to another fascinating and unique location nearby. Here you'll find a blending of two cultures, separated by roughly four thousand years. Check out this video for a sneak peek at one of the sites you'll see.

This is a perfect tour for parties that would like to take a glimpse of Brittany's ancient past when they don't have too much time to spend. The tour takes around two and half hours and does not involve too much walking. Be aware, however, that there are one or two steep slopes to negotiate towards the end of the tour, so make sure you have adequate outdoor footwear.

At the end of the tour there will be a choice of bars and restaurants at which you and your party can mull over the sites you have just seen.

This tour is ideal if you are taking a boating holiday along the Nantes-Brest Canal.
